On June 5, 2024, the Governor signed legislation extending the allowable number of days per school year on which a retiree can return to work on a temporary and non-annual or hourly basis without having a pension cancelled from 120 to 140 through June 30, 2027. This legislation was originally set to expire on June 30, 2024.

Legislation which allowed a retiree to return to work without limitation or cancellation of their pension if they are employed in a subject shortage area, has also been extended through June 30, 2027. CTPF's return-to-work forms and website information will be updated shortly.
