CTPF Investments

The Chicago Teachers' Pension Fund (CTPF) Investment Department works under the guidance and direction of the CTPF Board of Trustees. It is the mission of the Investment Department to enhance the total return of the CTPF investment portfolio through a policy of long-term diversified investment, utilizing principles of meticulous risk management, and working with independent professional investment managers and consultants to achieve these goals.

The Chicago Teachers' Pension Fund (CTPF) specifically outlines the investment philosophy and practices of CTPF, and was developed to serve as a framework for the management of CTPF's defined benefit plan. The CTPF Board of Trustees has established the investment guidelines to formalize investment objectives, policies, and procedures, and to define the duties and responsibilities of the various entities involved in the investment process.

Independent investment consultants are persons or entities selected by the CTPF Board of Trustees as fiduciaries and advisers to provide expert advice, counsel, and support as it relates to CTPF's investment program.
