CTPF Mourns the Passing of Most Senior Member, Edith Renfrow Smith

The Chicago Teachers’ Pension Fund (CTPF) is deeply saddened by the passing of Edith Renfrow Smith at the age of 111. Edith was CTPF’s most senior member and a remarkable trailblazer whose life and career left an indelible mark on Chicago’s educational community.  

In 2025, Edith attended CTPF’s 130th Anniversary Celebration, where she inspired attendees with her enduring commitment to education and her extraordinary life story.
