
It is with deep respect and sadness that we share the news of the passing of Margaret “Peg” A. Olson, former Trustee of the Chicago Teachers' Pension Fund (CTPF), who passed peacefully on October 15, 2025, at the age of 86.
Trustee Olson’s legacy at CTPF includes nearly two decades of dedicated service as a Teacher Trustee. She began her tenure in November 1973 serving until August 1991, holding key leadership roles including Chairman of the Committee on Claims & Service Credits (1975–1977, 1989–1991) and Recording Secretary (1977–1989). In October 1991, Trustee Olson was formally recognized by the Board of Trustees for her outstanding service and invaluable contributions, honored with a plaque in commemorating her commitment to CTPF.
“I was fortunate to know Trustee Olson during my early tenure at CTPF and know that she will be greatly missed. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Peg’s family, friends, and all those whose lives she enriched. Her memory will remain a guiding light for our community,” said Carlton W. Trustee Olson’s career as a math teacher with Chicago Public Schools spanned 32 years, after which she continued to serve the educational community. She was known for her generosity, her support of charitable causes, and her vibrant spirit.
Beyond her professional achievements, Trustee Olson was a beloved family member and friend, remembered for her warmth, humor, and zest for life. She was a lifelong resident of Chicago, moving to Florida in 2023.
