The Chicago Teachers' Pension Fund (CTPF) is a defined benefit retirement plan which provides a lifetime retirement benefit to vested members who meet minimum age and service requirements.

Educational Workshops for Active Members

New Program: CTPF to You: Pensions 101

CTPF, in cooperation with the CTU Pension and Insurance Committee, is hosting CTPF to You: Pensions 101, a webinar designed for members at any stage of their career. The presentation explains the basics of your pension and connects you to CTPF’s tools and resources that support long‑term retirement planning. The presentation will be approximately 30 minutes, with additional time for Q&A. The webinar will be held on April 16, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. Register in advance for this webinar.

Disability Benefits

A disability pension may be payable in the event of permanent disability with certain qualifications and service requirements. Survivor & Death Benefits

The survivor and death benefits provided by CTPF are an important part of a family's financial future. If you are aware of the death of a CTPF member, please contact Member Services, 312-641-4464, to report the death so CTPF can begin the process of paying any benefits due.
