The Fund is trying to identify members who may have been contacted by an agency falsely claiming to be representatives of CTPF.
Last spring, Gabriel Christopher and Travonce Flowers of Equis Financial obtained CTPF members’ email addresses and contacted numerous members in an attempt to sell life insurance products.
A meeting of the Policy Committee will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at 4:00 p.m.

If you're considering retirement in 2021, please plan on joining the Chicago Teachers' Pension Fund (CTPF) for a retirement webinar. Two more webinars will be offered on March 30, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The webinars provide a one-stop-shop for retirement information, including a general overview of the CTPF and CPS retirement processes. CTPF's Member Services Department will be available at all webinars to answer individual questions.
Plan rates quoted by UHC do not include the CTPF subsidy or Medicare Part D costs
Members who participate in the AARP Medicare Supplement Plan F (UnitedHealthcare) recently received a letter from UnitedHealthcare (UHC) with information regarding a June 1, 2021, rate increase. Plan F premiums are based on age, gender, vary by geographic area, and are determined directly by UHC. The increases range from $1 to $23 per month and vary by individual situation. A majority of participants will have rate increases of $7 or less.
Program provides access to COVID-19 vaccine in a safe, equitable, and effective method.
The City of Chicago is providing in-home COVID-19 vaccination for Chicago residents who are unable to leave home due to age, disability, or medical impairment. This program is intended to provide access to COVID-19 vaccine in a safe, equitable, and effective method.This mobile, home-health community vaccination program will serve those who are unable to travel to a vaccination site, as well as their caregivers. Those interested in signing up for the program should complete this survey (https://redcap.link/MobileCOVIDVax).
Monday, March 22, 2021, from 1:00-5:00 p.m. CTPF will perform critical maintenance on equipment which will limit the call center’s availability. Members who need to contact CTPF during this period are encouraged to email memberservices@ctpf.org. Members who call 312-641-4464 will need to leave a message and a representative will return the calls within 24-48 hours.
Webinars are open to members enrolled in this health insurance plan.
UnitedHealthcare is offering meetings for CTPF members enrolled in their group Medicare Advantage (PPO) plans. Members who attend these meetings can learn how to take advantage of the benefits offered by this plan.
Two sessions with the same information will be offered:
