This Fall, CTPF will hold elections for: 

Two Teacher Trustees to serve three-year terms from November 2026 – November 2029. 

The 2027 Open Enrollment period for retiree health insurance will run from October 1-31, 2026. During this time, annuitants can enroll, add or drop a dependent, or change a health insurance plan. Changes become effective January 1, 2027.

During Open Enrollment, CTPF offers webinars and in-person seminars to educate members about CTPF’s health insurance plans.     

The Chicago Teachers' Pension Fund (CTPF) is contacting individuals who received an Address Verification Form and have not yet responded. Members who receive an automated call on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, can be assured that it is a legitimate communication from CTPF. The automated reminder message is part of CTPF's ongoing effort to maintain accurate member records and ensure uninterrupted delivery of pension and health insurance benefits. 

Every school is encouraged to have a CTPF Pension Representative. 

Pension representatives (Pension Reps) are valued members of CTPF. They help strengthen the connection between teachers and CTPF and support CTPF Trustee elections. 

CTPF will offer a quarterly Town Hall webinar hosted by Executive Director Carlton W. Lenoir, Sr., on September 24, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. The webinar will offer a general overview of Fund operations and seasonal reminders. The webinar is expected to last about 40 minutes. Members seeking election as a Teacher Trustee of the Chicago Teachers’ Pension Fund (CTPF) now have greater flexibility in submitting nomination petitions following a recent change in Illinois law. 

A meeting of the Board of Trustees will be held Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 10:15 a.m. in the CTPF office.

The meeting agenda will be posted in the Diligent Community meeting management system in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.

August 3, 2026, would have been Beatrice (Bea) Lumpkin’s 108th birthday. Following her passing on June 14, 2026, Mayor Brandon Johnson declared August 3 “Beatrice Lumpkin Day” in Chicago. Today, CTPF joins the city in honoring Bea’s fierce advocacy for workers’ rights, social justice, and education, as well as her lifelong commitment to creating positive change. The CTPF Board of Trustees sent a letter on July 17, 2026, and adopted a resolution on July 27, 2026, calling on Cook County to include Chicago Public Schools in the county's Property Tax Bridge Fund and to ensure the timely collection and distribution of property tax revenues owed to CPS and CTPF. The communications highlight the importance of timely property tax revenues in supporting public education, retirement security, and the long-term financial health of the Fund.

The companies appearing in CTPF's Top 10 Holdings report reflect the Fund's largest positions at a point in time, a majority of which are held through passive index strategies that track broad market benchmarks and are not selected based on any specific corporate activity, policy, or government contract.  

The Chicago Teachers’ Pension Fund (CTPF) is deeply saddened by the passing of Bea Lumpkin at the age of 107. Bea was one of CTPF’s most senior members who dedicated her life to fighting for workers’ rights, social justice, and education.
